Quail Farming Prototype

A controlled quail farming prototype for meat, eggs, nutrition testing, and integration with the wider Agrith feed and waste loops.

- Team Agrith
Quail Food Production Pilot
Quail farming prototype

The quail farming prototype is one of the first food production systems inside Agrith. It is small enough to measure carefully, but useful enough to produce real lessons about feed, health, housing, and daily operation.

Quail can support the project with high-protein meat and eggs while giving the team a practical system for testing nutrition, animal comfort, and production management.

What We Are Testing

The prototype should help us understand:

  • feed intake and feed conversion
  • egg and meat production
  • mortality and health events
  • housing temperature and ventilation
  • labor requirements
  • cost per kilogram of production

System Integration

Quail connects naturally to several Agrith systems:

  • fresh feed testing
  • black soldier fly larvae as a protein input
  • compost and organic waste loops
  • cooling and ventilation prototypes
  • future reporting for the full smart forest model

Why It Matters

The quail pilot is not only about producing birds. It is a fast feedback system. It can show which feed and housing decisions improve survival, cost, and quality before the project scales larger animal systems.
